Die Sehnsucht, sich mit Lyrik und Musik auszudrücken, ist inspiriert von der Einheit, die sie in der Natur fühlt, den Wegen als Einzelgängers in der Arbeitswelt und wie sie sich selbst als Künstlerin in der heutigen Zeit wahrnimmt.

Nachdem als Kind die musikalischen Wurzeln in klassischer Gitarre und Folk-Musik gelegt wurden, widmete sie sich Anfang zwanzig dem Punkrock und spielte in diversen Bands.

Da sie nicht nur Musik machte, sondern auch mit ihrer Kamera Geschichten erzählte, studierte sie Fotografie und wurde professionelle Fotografin in Berlin.

An einem Wendepunkt in ihrem Leben fühlte sie sich leer und erkannte, dass ihr das Musikmachen fehlte. Sie entschied sich 2006 dazu, Singer-songwriterin zu werden und performte mehrere Jahre lang solo in lokalen Clubs in Berlin.

Ihre Einflüsse von Folk-Musik und Punkrock mischten sich mit neuen experimentellen Ausdrücken in ihrem Songschreiben. Sie gründete 2007 die Riot Grrrl pop Frauenband „Itchi Sun“, mit der sie als Frontfrau in lokalen Clubs in Berlin auftrat.

Überwältigt von der Hauptstadt zog es sie aufs Land, wo sie 2010 ihr selbstproduziertes Debut-Album aufnahm.

Musik verändert sich, wenn man von der Natur umgeben ist.

Benya wollte mehr über die Hintergründe der Musikwelt erfahren und studierte 2011 am ICPM in Potsdam. Von professionellen Musikern wurde sie in Gitarre, Gesang, Klavier, Theorie, Gehörbildung, Musikbusiness, Rhythmustraining und Aufnahmetechnik unterrichtet und spielte in der Studienband mit.

Sie ändert sich auch, wenn man von Profis umgeben ist.

Während eines Aufenthalts in Frankreich trat sie für ein Jahr dem weltweit größten Online-Forum für Musiker MCMP bei.

2014 - 2017 hat sie Gitarrenunterricht für Jugendliche gegeben und Songtexte für die EP von Gunther Spatz geschrieben.

Zurzeit wohnt sie in der Nähe von Köln und hat ihr neues Album Part Of The Quiet Place in eigener DIY-Produktion herausgebracht.

After joining guitar classes of folk and classical music as a child, Benya played in various punkbands as a teenager.

Since she liked to tell stories with her camera, she began studying photography and became a freelance photographer in Berlin, Germany.

At a certain point in her life she felt worn out and realized that making music was missing. She decided to become a singer-songwriter in 2006 and performed solo gigs in the local club scene of Berlin for several years.

Her roots of folk music and punkrock morphed into an experimental expression in her songwriting. She founded the all women Riot-Grrrl pop group „Itchi Sun“ in 2007 and performed live as a front woman in local clubs in Berlin. To date she deals with the topic of being a woman in rock and pop music.

In 2011 Benya sought to learn more about the background of making music and joined the ICPM in Potsdam, where she was taught by professional musicians in theorie, guitar, vocals, piano, eartraining, theorie, recording, rhythm training and music business and played in the college's band.

During a stay in France she decided to attend the online music careers mentoring program where she has been mentored by successfull musicians and released an album during a collaboration with other songwriters.
